AVF - sugar!!!!!!

Slept well last night without interuption from 9:45-7:00, but am still exhausted when I woke up! Dr. Jaime says it is because my sleep cycles are backwards (energy too low in the morning and peaks around 7pm!). I'm working on getting that on track. Food 8:15 breakfast - protein shake and supplements 11:30 snack - buffalo jerky and almonds (starving) 1:00 lunch - 4oz pecan crusted chicken and approx 1 cup of steamed broccoli 5:30 dinner - pork tenderloin and black bean chilli (dr. Jaime told me to add in protein carbs sparingly, I should have had more veggies) 7:30 handful of chocolate goldfish (damn Stan for buying them for the kids' lunches! I have no willpower to my severe sugar cravings. Will I ever be able to stand in the same room with a chocolate chip cookie and it not be the hardest thing in the world to not eat it?! I'm still fighting going and eating the rest of those goldfish and they're not even that good!) About 32 oz of water...I Really need to get better at drinking more water. No WOD today. Really tired, despite all the sleep I had last night.

  1. The first few weeks are always extremely rough on me and my sugar cravings but you get to a point where you don't even think about it and walk past those cookies without any thought. Just power through it and you will be fine!

  2. Amanda giving up sweets is the worst! When you get cravings drink water like Amanda M. mentioned or have some celery, sliced cucumber, sliced bell peppers...anything to trick your body to think you just fulfilled your cravings.

  3. Amanda, chocolate is my crack/cocaine and to be honest, I just can't have certain things in my house. Maybe you can keep cheddar Goldfish in the house instead, at least until you can get over the hump. It is hard enough without the added temptation. If you have to have this stuff around, ask your husband to hide it somewhere or keep it in the car! Whatever it takes to get you through. Dr. Jaime also told me to drink herbal tea at night and use stevia to make it really sweet. Stay with it and I love your honesty.
